Pool Result Today Saturday Week 18 Pool Result for Sat 4 Nov 2023 – UK 2023/2024

Brentford are buzzing from recent results and can make life difficult for visitors West Ham in the Premier League this weekend. The first-round proper of the FA Cup kicks off and an all-League One tie between Port Vale and Burton could be a close contest. We’ve looked through the games and provided recent form and head-to-head statistics for five matches we think have the potential to end in a draw.

1 – Brentford v West Ham

Brentford beat West Ham 2-0 in both Premier League encounters last season. They also met in the third round of the FA Cup last term, which the Hammers won 1-0 away.

Brentford only managed one win from their first eight Premier League games this season, but the Bees may have turned a corner after beating Burnley 3-0 and Chelsea 2-0 in their last two matches.

West Ham have a midweek League Cup game against Arsenal and go into that match winless in four. The Hammers have not won in the Premier League since beating Sheffield United 2-0 at the end of September.

7 West Ham wins

3 – Everton v Brighton

Brighton hammered Everton 4-1 at Goodison Park last season, but the Toffees went one better and thrashed the Seagulls 5-1 in the reverse fixture.

Results have improved for Everton following a slow start and they’ve won three of their last five Premier League games. Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal secured them a 1-0 win at West Ham last weekend.

Brighton claimed a historic first win in European football when they beat Ajax 2-0 in the Europa League last week, but the Seagulls have only picked up 2-points in their last four Premier League fixtures.

15 – Preston v Coventry

Coventry have not beaten Preston in a league game since 2007. There has been eight draws and Preston have eleven wins in their last nineteen league encounters.

After a flying start to their league campaign results have dropped off for Preston. They are winless in their last seven league games (4L, 3D), but have only lost one of their seven league games at Deepdale.

Coventry suffered just two defeats in their first eleven league games this term, but have since lost three on the bounce. A 3-1 victory over QPR in September remains their only win on the road this season.

17 – Stoke v Cardiff

Four of the last five meetings between Stoke and Cardiff have ended in a stalemate, including both league encounters last season. It finished 2-2 at the Bet365 Stadium and 1-1 at Cardiff City Stadium.

Stoke have won their last three league games on the spin and beat in-form Middlesbrough 2-0 at the Riverside Stadium in the latest.

Cardiff are looking to make this a third straight win in the Championship, after winning 4-0 at Huddersfield and 2-0 hosting Bristol City.

39 – Port Vale v Burton A.

Port Vale and Burton meet in the first round of the FA Cup this weekend. Burton edged a 3-2 away victory when they met in League One in September.

Port Vale have reached the quarter-finals of the League Cup for the first time in their history after winning 1-0 away at Mansfield on Tuesday. It was Vale’s first win in four matches.
