This Week Pool Result 2022: Week 29 Pool Result for Sat 22 Jan 2022 – UK 2021/2022

Crystal Palace have been avoiding defeat at Selhurst Park and could do so again hosting Liverpool this weekend. While relegation threatened Newcastle could really do with a positive result when they take on Leeds at Elland Road. We’ve provided recent form and head-to-head statistics for 5 fixtures we think have the potential to end in a  draw.

4 – Crystal Palace v Liverpool

Liverpool smashed Crystal Palace 7-0 on their last visit to Selhurst Park and have since beaten the Eagles by 2-0 and 3-0 in two meetings at Anfield.

Crystal Palace have avoided defeat in nine of their eleven home games in the Premier League this season. The Eagles return home following a 2-1 win at Millwall in the FA Cup and a 1-1 draw at Brighton in the Premier League.

Fabinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Takumi Minamino provided the goals in Liverpool’s 3-0 win hosting Brentford last weekend. The Reds will come into this after the second-leg of their League Cup semi-final with Arsenal, the first-leg finished 0-0 last week.

9 Crystal Palace wins

27 Liverpool wins

7 Draws

5 – Leeds v Newcastle

Raphinha gave Leeds an early lead, but Allan Saint-Maximin equalised for Newcastle at the end of the first-half when the teams drew 1-1 at St James’ Park in September.

Jack Harrison’s first career hat-trick gave Leeds a 3-2 victory over West Ham at the London Stadium last Sunday. Leeds now look for a third straight Premier League victory after starting the year with a 3-1 win hosting Burnley.

Newcastle have drawn their last two Premier League matches by 1-1 with Manchester United and Watford, which were either side of a 1-0 defeat to Cambridge United in the FA Cup.

91 League Encounters

35 Leeds wins

37 Newcastle wins

19 Draws

6 – Leicester v Brighton

Brighton beat Leicester 2-1 in the reverse fixture back in September, but the Foxes won on penalties when they drew 2-2 in the EFL Cup the following month.

Leicester ended last year with a 1-0 win hosting Liverpool in the Premier League and this month beat Watford 4-1 in the FA Cup. They’ll host Tottenham midweek, before welcoming the Seagulls to the King Power on Sunday.

Brighton have emerged as the draw specialists of the Premier League this season, with 11 of their 21 games ending in a stalemate. The Seagulls came from behind to draw 1-1 hosting Chelsea on Tuesday and went unbeaten in six matches in all competitions.

35 League Encounters

17 Leicester wins

11 Brighton wins

7 Draws

20 – Charlton v Fleetwood

Five of their last nine meetings have ended in a draw, but Charlton won 2-1 visiting Fleetwood in the reverse fixture back in October.

Charlton have suffered a downturn in form since mid-December and their only win in their last six matches was a narrow 1-0 victory over MK Dons in the EFL Trophy competition.

Fleetwood aim for a third consecutive victory, they beat Doncaster 1-0 in their first game of 2022 and a stoppage time goal edged them a 1-0 win hosting Rotherham last weekend.

9 League Encounters

3 Charlton wins

1 Fleetwood win

5 Draws

27 – Shrewsbury v Bolton

Shrewsbury have only managed one win from their last six meetings with Bolton (L4, D1). Bolton won 2-1 when they met in the reverse fixture in October.

Shrewsbury lost 4-1 to Liverpool in the FA Cup this month, but are unbeaten in their last five league matches (3W, 2D).

Bolton stopped the rot of five consecutive defeats and scored twice in the final 15-minutes to beat Ipswich 2-0 last weekend.

20 League Encounters

6 Shrewsbury wins

11 Bolton wins

3 Draws
