This Week Pool Result 2021: Week 3 Pool Result for Sat 24 Jul 2021 – Aussie 2021

The Scottish League Cup continues this weekend and visitors Kelty Hearts could avoid defeat with a trip to Championship side Arbroath, while a clash between Ayr United and Falkirk could also be tight.

The Belgium top-flight will kick off a new season and we suspect OH Leuven and Waregem could both earn a point in their opener.

We’ve compiled recent form and head-to-head statistics for 5 fixtures we think have the potential to end in a score draw.

1 – Arbroath v Kelty Hearts

This will be the first ever encounter between Scottish Championship side Arbroath and SPFL newcomers Kelty Hearts.

Arbroath started their Scottish League Cup campaign with a 1-0 win away at Elgin City. Then won 2-0 hosting East Fife, playing the last 20-minutes with 10-men. Last Saturday they were beaten 1-0 away at Premiership side Dundee United.

Kelty Hearts won 3-0 hosting East Fife last weekend and on Tuesday evening they conceded 5-minutes into their visit to Elgin City, but went on to win 3-1.

2 – Ayr Utd v Falkirk

The last meeting between Ayr and Falkirk was in this competition back in 2019, Ayr won it 2-1 at home.

Ayr lost on penalties to Albion Rovers in their first Scottish League Cup match this season. They followed up with a 3-0 win over Edinburgh City and a 1-0 win away at Hamilton Academical on Tuesday.

Falkirk swept aside Albion Rovers with a 5-1 victory in their first League Cup match this season, but were then beaten 2-1 by Hamilton Academical last weekend. They’ll visit Edinburgh City midweek before taking on Ayr United.

22 – OH Leuven v Waregem

Leuven won both of their top-flight encounters with Waregem last season, they won 2-1 at home and scored a 95th minute penalty to edge a 3-2 win away.

Although only friendlies, Leuven have won four of their five pre-season warm-up games, but were beaten 3-0 by Fortuna Dusseldorf in the latest.

Waregem finished 10th last season, 1-point and one place above Leuven. They’ve had mixed results this pre-season with three wins, three defeats and a draw in seven warm-up matches.

14 Encounters (since 2011)

5 Leuven wins

6 Waregem wins

40 – Randers v Odense

Both sides won by 2-1 at home when they met in the Danish Superliga last season. They met more recently in a friendly where a first-half penalty gave Randers a 1-0 away win.

Randers won two and drew two of their four pre-season warm-up games and made a winning start to their league campaign with a 2-0 win a Vejle last Sunday.

Odense also made a winning start to their league campaign last weekend, they scored a 90th minute winner to claim a 2-1 victory at Midtjylland.

54 Encounters (since 2002)

16 Randers wins

23 Odense wins

15 Draws

48 – Sirius v Degerfors

The last time these two met was in Sweden’s second tier Superettan in 2016, Sirius smashed Degerfors 6-0 in this fixture and were beaten 1-0 in the reverse.

Sirius will be relieved to be back on home turf following heavy back-to-back defeats on the road to the top-two sides Malmo (4-0) and Djurgaarden (5-1).

Degerfors are also looking to recover from back-to-back heavy defeats, they were beaten 5-1 by Hammarby and 5-0 by Malmo.

15 Encounters (since 1998)

8 Sirius wins

3 Degerfors wins
