Brighton and Fulham both harbour aspirations of European football and go into their clash at the Amex Stadium level on points. Liverpool visit Newcastle and the Magpies’ habit of drawing matches could jeopardise their place in the top four. We’ve provided recent form and head-to-head statistics for five fixtures we think have the potential to end in a possible score and no score draw.

2 – Brighton v Fulham

It’s 6th versus 7th when Brighton host Fulham in the Premier League this weekend and both teams are level on 35-points, but the Seagulls have two games in hand. Fulham were 2-1 winners when they met at Craven Cottage back in August.

Brighton are unbeaten in their last seven matches across all competitions and drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the latest. They’ve won their last three home games, which includes beating Liverpool twice in league and cup games.

Fulham have only lost two of their last eleven matches in all competitions. They went unbeaten in the last four with a 2-0 win hosting Nottingham Forest last weekend.

6 – Newcastle v Liverpool

Fabio Carvalho scored deep into stoppage time to snatch a 2-1 victory for Liverpool against Newcastle at Anfield back in August.

Newcastle haven’t lost in the Premier League since the August defeat at Anfield, going seventeen league games unbeaten. However, five of the last six have ended in a stalemate, including a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth last weekend.

Liverpool claimed their first Premier League win in 2023 with a 2-0 victory over Merseyside rivals Everton on Monday. The Reds had picked up just 1-point from their previous four league fixtures.

11 – Blackpool v Stoke

Stoke comfortably beat Blackpool 2-0 in the reverse fixture back in August, which was the Potters’ first 3-points of the season.

Blackpool will go into their midweek fixture with Swansea winless in their last thirteen league matches. However, the last three at home have ended in stalemates with Sunderland (1-1), Huddersfield (2-2) and Rotherham (0-0).

Stoke will host Huddersfield midweek and go into that fixture having won just two of their last ten league games. They were held to a 0-0 draw hosting Hull last Saturday.

21 Blackpool wins

25 Stoke wins

19 Draws

17 – Sunderland v Bristol City

Sunderland fought back from 2-1 down to edge a 3-2 victory over Bristol City at Ashton Gate at the start of the season.

After losing 3-2 in their FA Cup replay with Fulham, Sunderland have put together back-to-back wins in the Championship, beating Reading 1-0 and QPR 3-0. The Black Cats have lost just one of their last nine league fixtures.

Bristol City will go into their midweek fixture against Wigan unbeaten in nine matches across all competitions (5W, 4D). Mark Sykes scored his 5th goal in six games to get the Robins a 1-0 victory hosting Norwich last weekend.

43 League Encounters

13 Sunderland wins

16 Bristol City wins

14 Draws

20 – Bristol Rovers v Burton

Bristol Rovers thrashed Burton 4-0 in the reverse fixture at the start of the season, but the Brewers have drawn their last two visits to Memorial Stadium 0-0 and 1-1.

Bristol Rovers stopped the rot of four consecutive league defeats by earning a point in a 0-0 draw hosting Ipswich on Tuesday.

Burton have recently won three league games on the bounce, which has helped them edge away from the drop zone. Their win streaked was halted on Tuesday when they conceded in the 92nd minute to lose 1-0 at Portsmouth.
