Pool Result Today Saturday Week 9 Pool Result for Sat 2 Sep 2023 – UK 2023/2024

Both Arsenal and Manchester United looked unsettled in the new season and may share the spoils in their clash at the Emirates this weekend. While, Brighton and Newcastle look to bounce back from defeats when they meet at the Amex. We’ve looked through the games and provided recent form and head-to-head statistics for five matches we think have the potential to end in a classic draw.

1 – Arsenal v Man Utd

Eddie Nketiah scored a 90th minute winner for Arsenal to beat Manchester United 3-2 in this fixture last season. The Red Devils won 3-1 when the teams met at Old Trafford.

Arsenal are unbeaten in their three Premier League matches this season. They beat Nottingham Forest (2-1) and Crystal Palace (1-0) in their first two games, but were less than convincing in a 2-2 draw hosting Fulham last weekend.

Manchester United started their Premier League campaign with a 1-0 win over Wolves, then lost 2-0 at Tottenham and survived a scare to beat Nottingham Forest 3-2 last Saturday.

74 Arsenal wins

85 Man Utd wins

3 – Brighton v Newcastle

Brighton and Newcastle drew 0-0 in their Premier League meeting at the Amex last season, before the Magpies enjoyed a 4-1 win at St James’ Park.

Brighton enjoyed the perfect start to the 2023-24 campaign with back-to-back wins of 4-1 over Luton and Wolves, but were undone by West Ham last weekend and lost 3-1 at the Amex Stadium.

Newcastle thrashed Aston Villa 5-1 in their Premier League opener, but then faced Manchester City and Liverpool and lost 1-0 at the Etihad and lost 2-1 hosting the Reds.

8 Brighton wins

10 Newcastle wins

9 – Coventry v Watford

Coventry came back from 2-0 down to salvage a point and draw 2-2 with Watford in this fixture last season. The Sky Blues edged a 1-0 win at Vicarage Road.

Since losing 2-1 at Leicester in their opening game, Coventry have gone unbeaten in three league matches. They won 3-0 hosting Middlesbrough, before draws with Swansea (1-1) and Sunderland (0-0).

Watford thumped QPR 4-0 in their opener, but could only draw 0-0 with Plymouth in their following game and have since lost to Stoke (1-0) and Blackburn (1-0).

14 – Plymouth v Blackburn

Plymouth and Blackburn have not met since League One in the 2017-18 season, where Plymouth won 2-0 at home following a 1-1 draw at Ewood Park.

Plymouth enjoyed a 3-1 win hosting Huddersfield on their Championship return and followed that with a 0-0 draw at Watford. They’ve narrowly lost their last two league games to Southampton (2-1) and Birmingham (2-1) and on both occasions they conceded the winning goal deep into stoppage time.

Blackburn started their Championship campaign with a 2-1 win hosting West Brom, before a 2-2 draw at Rotherham. They conceded two late goals to lose 2-1 to Hull, but got back on track and snatched a 1-0 win at Watford last Sunday.

21 – Burton v Exeter

Burton won 2-0 away and 1-0 at home in their League One meetings with Exeter last season. The teams finished level on 56-points last term.

Burton are winless after five league matches this season, but they stopped the rot of three straight defeats to draw with Wycombe (0-0) and Bolton (1-1) in their last two games.

Exeter have only lost one of their five league games this season and are looking for a third straight win following victories over Carlisle (2-0) and Reading (2-1).
