Aston Villa are yet to endure four consecutive Premier League (PL) fixtures without a victory this season and desperately need to avoid doing so to keep their slim hopes of a coveted top-five place alive. A W2, L1 record as a PL home outsider gives them hope of their first home victory in six weeks.

 

Resolute defending has contributed to six of their last seven PL fixtures producing two or fewer total goals (W2, D3, L2), with Villa being shut out three times themselves despite averaging a healthy 3.71 shots on target per game in that period.
