Tottenham vs Man Utd. Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle United saw them drop points from a winning position for the second time in three Premier League (PL) matches, and has them losing ground in the European qualification battle. Starting the round sixth, Tottenham could end up anywhere between fourth and eighth, but will feel they haven’t maximized starting well after scoring an average of 1.33 goals per game before the 35th minute across their last six league fixtures (W4, D1, L1).

They’ve played well at home recently, where they’ve won three straight PL games, although ominously, their last three league defeats here came against sides that ended match day 30 in the top seven. More encouragingly, they’ve lost just one of their last eight PL home H2Hs (W3, D4), scoring first in four of the previous five.

Sitting in second place following ten PL matches unbeaten (W5, D5), Manchester United could form a late charge as nobody has outscored the ‘Red Devils’ after the 80th minute (11 goals) this top-flight campaign. That’ll put chills down Spurs spines as they’ve dropped 11 points through goals conceded in the final ten minutes this term.

Considering Man United are late goal specialists, trailing won’t bother them as they’ve rescued a league-high 22 points after conceding first on the road (W7, D1). That’s helped them go unbeaten away this PL campaign (W9, D6), and interestingly, no team has scored during both halves in more away outings this top-flight season than the visitors (seven).

Players to watch: Gareth Bale netted a brace in Tottenham’s last PL home game and he’s now registered the opener in his last two goal scoring outings. Also looking to strike first will be Marcus Rashford (MUN) who netted against Granada in midweek – three of his last five PL goals also opened the scoring.

Hot stat: Tottenham have failed to win a league-high six PL matches when leading at HT this term (D6).

Prediction: Tottenham [1] vs [3] Man Utd.
