Gremio vs Fluminense

The bottom two teams in the Brazilian Serie A meet when Gremio host Fluminense this weekend. Gremio won two narrow league encounters last season, winning 2-1 at home and 3-2 away.

Prior to a midweek fixture Gremio had been in poor form and lost their last six league games on the bounce. An own goal contributed to their 1-0 defeat hosting Internacional last weekend.

Rock-bottom Fluminense have earned just 2-points in their last eight league games. They will go into their midweek fixture against Vitoria on four straight defeats.

Vitoria vs Atletico PR

Vitoria and Atletico Paranaense have not met since the 2018 season, when Atletico won 4-0 at home and 2-1 away.

Vitoria recently recorded back-to-back wins at home, beating Internacional 2-1 and Atletico Mineiro 4-2. They lost 2-1 visiting Bragantino last weekend and return to home turf after a midweek visit to Fluminense.

Prior to their midweek fixture Atletico Paranaense were unbeaten in their last four matches. They beat Criciuma 3-1 before draws with Flamengo (1-1), Botafogo (1-1) and Corinthians (1-1).

Montreal Impact vs Philadelphia Union

Montreal are 14th in the Eastern Conference and 1-point off Philadelphia (11th). The teams drew 2-2 when they met in the reverse fixture earlier this month.

Four of Montreal’s last six matches have ended in a draw. They drew back-to-back home games with Real Salt Lake (0-0) and New York Red Bulls (2-2), before losing 4-1 away at Colorado Rapids last weekend.

Philadelphia are winless in their last six matches, following three straight draws with three straight defeats. Their last victory was a 3-0 win at 10-man New England last month.

Vancouver Whitecaps won 3-0 hosting St Louis City in the USA’s MLS last season and St Louis won 3-1 in the reverse fixture.

Vancouver returns home after back-to-back defeats on the road to New England (3-2) and Portland Timbers (2-0). They’ve won just three of their eight league home games this season, drawn two and lost three.
