There is a massive clash at the top of the Premier League table this weekend when Liverpool host Manchester City. And the battle for a top-4 finish heats up when Aston Villa host Tottenham. We’ve looked through the games and provided recent form and head-to-head statistics for five matches we think have the potential to end in a draw.
2 – Aston Villa vs Tottenham
Aston Villa are 4th and Tottenham are 5-points off in 5th with a game in hand. Villa won 2-1 when they met in the reverse fixture in November and completed a league double over Spurs last season, winning 2-0 away and 2-1 at home.
Aston Villa will visit Ajax in the Europa Conference League this week and go into that fixture on the back of three straight Premier League wins over Fulham (2-1), Nottingham Forest (4-2) and Luton (3-2).
Tottenham have won three of their last five matches, but they’ve all been on home turf, including a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace last weekend. Their last two away games finished 2-2 at Manchester United and Everton.

54 Aston Villa wins
67 Tottenham wins

6 – Liverpool vs Man City
Only 1-point separates leaders Liverpool from 2nd placed Manchester City heading into this showdown at Anfield. Trent Alexander-Arnold’s late equaliser earned Liverpool a point in a 1-1 draw at the Etihad in November.
Liverpool will go into their midweek Europa League fixture against Sparta Prague on a six-game win streak. It took a stoppage time goal from Darwin Nunez for the Reds to win 1-0 at Nottingham Forest last weekend.
Manchester City beat Manchester United 3-1 last weekend to extend their unbeaten run to nineteen matches (17W, 2D). They will host FC Copenhagen in the Champions League before heading to Anfield.

46 Man City wins

9 – Blackburn vs Plymouth
Blackburn and Plymouth are level on 40-points apiece. Plymouth won 3-0 hosting the reverse fixture in early September.
Blackburn are winless in their last six league matches, four of which have ended in a draw. Sammie Szmodics scored his 26th goal of the season in a 1-1 draw with Millwall on Tuesday.
Plymouth have only managed one win from their last six league matches, which was a 2-0 victory over Middlesbrough last month. They come into this on back-to-back defeats to Ipswich (2-0) and Sheffield Wednesday (1-0).
51 League Encounters
19 Blackburn wins
21 Plymouth wins

20 – Blackpool vs Portsmouth
League One leaders Portsmouth visit a Blackpool side looking to break into the play-off positions. Blackpool beat Portsmouth 4-0 at Fratton Park in November, ending Pompey’s 27-match unbeaten run in League One at the time.
Blackpool have won three and lost three of their last six matches. They beat promotion chasing Bolton 4-1 in their last home game and are currently 4-points off the last play-off spot.
Leaders Portsmouth are unbeaten in their last nine matches and only dropped points twice during that run in draws at Oxford United (2-2) and Charlton (0-0).
72 League Encounters

39 – Morecambe vs Wrexham
Morecambe will be out for some revenge against Wrexham, who thrashed them 6-0 in the reverse fixture back in November.
Morecambe have only lost one of their last eight matches and are looking for a third straight victory following wins over Crewe (3-2) and Crawley (1-0).
Wrexham won 4-0 hosting Accrington Stanley last weekend, but have only managed to win one of their last seven league away games. They drew 1-1 at relegation threatened Forest Green on their last trip out.
