It’s the final weekend of Premier League action before the season is disrupted for the World Cup in Qatar. Bournemouth and Everton meet at the Vitality Stadium and both sides will want to avoid slipping into the bottom three. Nottingham Forest were frustrated in a draw with Brentford last weekend, but it could be more of the same hosting Crystal Palace. We’ve provided recent form and head-to-head statistics for 5 fixtures we think have the potential to end in a pools draw.

1 – Bournemouth v Everton

Both teams fielded much-changed squads when they met in the EFL Cup on Tuesday and Bournemouth thrashed Everton 4-1. Bournemouth won 3-1 at home and 3-1 away in their last Premier League meetings with Everton (season 2019-20).

An unbeaten run of six Premier League matches has descended into four defeats on the bounce for Bournemouth. However, they only narrowly lost out 3-2 to Tottenham and 4-3 to Leeds in the last two.

Everton ended October with a 3-0 win hosting Crystal Palace and a 0-0 draw at Fulham, but a 2-0 defeat to Leicester last weekend was their fourth loss in six league matches.

4 – Nottingham Forest v Crystal Palace

The teams haven’t met since the Championship in the 2012-2013 season. They drew 1-1 at Selhurst Park and 2-2 at the City Ground.

A late own goal rescued a point for Nottingham Forest in a 2-2 draw hosting Brentford last weekend. Forest are now unbeaten in their last three league games at home, drawing with Aston Villa (1-1) and beating Liverpool 1-0, before the draw with Brentford.

Crystal Palace claimed their first Premier League away win of the season in a 2-1 victory at West Ham last weekend. The Eagles have now won three of their last four league fixtures.

13 Crystal Palace wins

14 Draws

8 – Bristol City v Watford

Watford thrashed Bristol City 6-0 in their last meeting, which was at Vicarage Road in the 2020-2021 season. The reverse fixture at Aston Gate finished in a less eventful 0-0 draw.

Bristol City are winless in their last four league games. The Robins managed draws with Swansea (1-1) and Middlesbrough (1-1), but lost to Reading (2-0) and Sheffield United (1-0).

After three wins on the spin against Luton (4-0), Wigan (1-0) and Cardiff (2-1), Watford couldn’t make it four and lost 1-0 hosting Coventry last weekend. They returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory hosting Reading on Tuesday.

25 Watford wins

17 – Wigan v Blackpool

Blackpool stunned Wigan with a 5-0 win at the DW Stadium last season. The Seasiders won 1-0 in the reverse fixture at Bloomfield Road.

Wigan earned a point in a 2-2 draw at Swansea last weekend, but their winless run was extended to seven matches (6L, 1D) in a 2-0 defeat at Coventry on Tuesday.

Blackpool are just 2-points above the drop zone and suffered a third consecutive defeat in a 3-0 loss to Middlesbrough midweek. They avoided defeat in three of their last five on the road.

36 League Encounters

16 Wigan wins

12 Blackpool wins

23 – Forest Green v Wycombe

Wycombe won 3-1 at home and 2-1 away in their only league encounters with Forest Green. Their only other competitive meeting was in the 2nd round of the EFL Cup in 2018, Wycombe won it on penalties following a 2-2 draw.

Forest Green have taken just 2-points from their last five league matches, but may have boosted confidence with a 2-0 victory over South Shields in the FA Cup last weekend.

Wycombe have been held to draws with Morecambe (1-1) and Port Vale (2-2) in their last two league fixtures and were beaten 2-0 by League Two Walsall in the FA Cup last weekend.
