The Championship returns in full this weekend and teams will prepare to navigate a busy festive schedule. We’ve looked through the fixtures in this weekend’s Classic Pools coupon and selected five we think have the potential to end in a potential coupon draw.

7 – Stoke v Cardiff

Last season Cardiff’s visit to Stoke ended in a 3-3 draw, with the Bluebird’s battling back from 3-0 down. Cardiff won 2-1 in the reverse fixture.

Stoke have suffered five defeats in their last seven Championship matches, but won 2-0 against Luton in their last home game. The Potters are 17th and 1-point ahead of 19th placed Cardiff.

Cardiff may have welcomed the break for the World Cup having suffered six defeats in their last eight league games, they lost back-to-back home games in the latest to Hull (3-2) and Sheffield United (1-0).

17 Stoke wins

18 Cardiff wins

11 Draws

8 – Swansea v Norwich

Norwich have won three of their last four meetings with Swansea, but the Swans won 2-0 hosting the most recent encounter back in February 2021.

Swansea have drawn their last three league games on the bounce, they were held by Wigan at home (2-2), before stalemates at Birmingham (2-2) and Huddersfield (0-0).

Norwich’s last action before the break for the World Cup was a narrow 2-1 defeat hosting Middlesbrough. The Canaries are 5th, but have managed just two wins in their last ten league games.

16 – Lincoln v Wycombe

Wycombe scored a late equaliser to draw 1-1 in this fixture last season, they won 1-0 in the reverse.

Lincoln are one of just two teams that are unbeaten on home turf in League One this season. However, the Imps have managed just two wins with seven of their nine home games have ending in a stalemate.

Wycombe have only lost one of their last five league games and moved within 3-points of the play-off positions with a 2-0 win over Portsmouth last weekend.

17 – MK Dons v Fleetwood

Three meetings between MK Dons and Fleetwood since May, 2021 have finished 1-1, 3-3, 1-1.

MK Dons have picked up just 2-points in their last four league games. A 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Burton last weekend leaves them 5-points from safety.

Fleetwood are the draw specialists of League One this season with eleven of their twenty matches ending all square. Only two draws finished goalless.

21 – Carlisle v Barrow

There’s just 1-point between 5th placed Carlisle and 4th placed Barrow, who are both looking to break into the automatic promotion places in League Two. Barrow won 2-0 at home when they met in the EFL Trophy in October.

Carlisle are unbeaten in their last five league games, but three have ended in a draw, including a 1-1 stalemate hosting Sutton last weekend.

Barrow have won four of their last six league games, but they’ve all been on home turf. They were thrashed 5-0 visiting Stevenage last weekend.
